Re: It not an AA hand
hmm... I think you actually will get called with more hands on this river than you think and that a bet has some equity. Otherwise, fairly standard.

Re: It not an AA hand
I would usually just raise the flop, but if you take a line like this: bet the river also, you don't need a free showdown raise here.

Re: It not an AA hand
I generally raise the flop but calling and raising the turn is fine too.
But why don't you bet the river? Will he only call with KK/AA? I expect him to call with QQ and JJ (in case he caps that pf) and since the board is double paired he might even call with A-high imo. Moreover an af of 2.0 makes me think we would have already heard about AA. I'd valuebet this river. |

Re: It not an AA hand
to tell you the truth i was actually scared of AA...
i figured i was going to call down, bet if checked to. but when the T hit, i thought i could get a cheap showdown vs a better hand or even get one to fold. stupid i know. but those stats say he has only raised 6 hands of the last 200 and now he is capping. combine that with me just pulling out of a big downswing (not quite there, but close now ) and im playing pretty scared right now. note to all, dont listen to my advice |

Re: It not an AA hand
grunch
I have no clue what you are talking about with your read. I would have raised on the flop.. if he 3-bets he has some thing, as played you don't know if he is defending. On the turn, betting when the T falls doesn't help too much because, if he has AA, he is now fearing you had top pair and trip'd up. On the river I would have bet.. He showed weakness on the turn and I wouldn't fear a check/raise as a result... -Chry |

Re: It not an AA hand
I raise the flop, bet the turn... if raised on the turn then I call. If I'm checked to on the river, I bet.

Re: It not an AA hand
I think you're probably loose some value over the long run by not betting the river when checked to. I'm not sure what his small pfr number mean really and don't want to give him credit for the one hand that beats us.
Edit, sorry for saying the same thing again, I was blind posting to make some kind of sanity check. |
