Check-call the river, IMO.

you want to expand on your thought process some? Seriously, the farm gangstas need to express their thought process more before I burn down their crops.

Re: To bet or not to bet the river... that is the question
For the love of Shania, do you expect to get decent answers from this? The only "read" you've given us would seem to indicate that a bet/fold is best on this river, but unless you've got something you haven't told us that'll make an A-B-C river-value-bet against a LPP less than obvious, what's the point?

Re: To bet or not to bet the river... that is the question
Villain doesn't raise any hands on this river that you beat. He's already called you twice, quite possibly indicating either a draw (like a flush or straight draw, which both may have just hit) or some kind of made hand, possibly a better 6. However, I think you'd like to show the hand down. You don't miss value by using a check-call line because any hand that villain would check behind would most likely fold to a bet anyway.
BTW DON'T TOUCH THE CROPS OR THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES! |

boz others disagree that this is a b/f on the river. Including wookie and btspider. What are we putting him on?

Re: To bet or not to bet the river... that is the question
I'd bet/fold against more passive opponents since they will almost certainly call with more hands than they bet in this sort of situation + you can easily fold to a raise without a second thought, but vs this guy a c/c is probably better. He seems likely to bet most anything when checked to, and you don't have to worry about being pushed off the best hand by a bluff raise you can't call.

[/ QUOTE ] With what you've given us, I can't speak for you (or for Wookie or bt for that matter) but I can't put him on anything. That's why I said A-B-C. On a scary board OOP you bet your weak made hands on the river to give your opponent an opportunity to fold, especially when a raise will tell you that you're beat. If your hand's stronger, but not a monster (e.g. a hand you NEED to show down), c/c is fine with me, but 3rd pair on a straighty board doesn't fit that criteria. |

Re: To bet or not to bet the river... that is the question
It's hard to imagine a hand that you beat that is calling your river net. Is A high really calling you here?

Re: To bet or not to bet the river... that is the question
I c/c. Don't see many worse hands calling, nor any better folding.
