Adding a 3rd Monitor
I'm 100% possitive this has been asked before, but I searched & could not find
Anyways I plan on updating to a SLI setup with 4 dvi connections in the near future, but for now I have 2 svga monitors & I want to run a 3rd DVI Monitor with them. I have a GeForce 6800gt that has a DVI port, & SVGA port. Question is can I just add a pci video card & have all 3 monitors work together at the same time exactly like my 2 monitors do with UltraMon? Re: Adding a 3rd Monitor
yes I think you have to make your dvi monitor the primary one though but it should work

Re: Adding a 3rd Monitor
Yep, I did it. I'd recommend sticking with an nVidia chip for the second card although I've seen others getting it working with different brands.

Re: Adding a 3rd Monitor
Hmm, I was about to ask the same question.
I now have 2 CRT monitors and want to buy a LCD to use as my 3rd. I don't have any SLI motherboard, and the guy in the store said I need it to use 3 monitors. Even tho I've heard before that you only need a extra video card for pci. So is it true? can someone else confirm that it works? |

Re: Adding a 3rd Monitor
I would recommend video cards from the same brand. It didnt work for me when I combined ati with nvidia. Now I have two nvidia cards and it works.

Re: Adding a 3rd Monitor
I just found my old 3d Blaster Banshee video card from Creative and it worked just fine.
My other video card is Nvidia Geforce 6600. So now I have a 3rd monitor |
