Default Typing.

I've noticed that my typing technique steadily improved until college, at which point it began a slow but sure decline in quality.

There are two glaring problems that I've picked up on:

1) DOuble capitalizing. USually just at the beginning of a new sentence, but also sometimes with PRoper NOuns.

2) Spacin gbefore I finish th eword I'm currentl ytyping.

What are your most common slip-ups on the keyboard?

Don't get me wrong, typing with my eyes closed is not a problem, in fact I seem to be doing better like this. Go figure.

Retyping whole sentence(s) when I have one mistake (I could just use mouse to go back and fix)

Hitting enter be

fore I'm done typing in IM, spacing at the wron g point, thinking i hit a key ut not actually oing so, and swapping letetr position in a word.

I honestly think this comes from typing too quickly and not giving a crap if I correct the problems anymore, not from a loss of skill.

Honestly, learning to type was the single most valuable skill I learned in high school. I have terrible handwriting and I last wrote a long document with my own hand in about 7th grade.

I type everything without looking, and a lot of the time I am reading or watching TV while posting. I can do about 70 words a minute when I am trying to be accurate.

Even though I have mad hunt-and-peck skills (70 wpm with two fingers, boo-yah! ... Strike that, eww, I just used a Stu Scott expression, ISSCKM ...) I often do the first-two-letters-are-both-capitalized trick. I also got "Jeremy F*cks" into the newspaper by accident five years ago (Last name was Fulks, the L looked like a C on the handwritten paper I was handed, oops).

EDIT: It's still a mystery to me how I was not fired for that.
