Default Fold K2s to a Raise and Cold Call?

Party Poker $100 No-Limit Hold'em, (5 handed)

Should this hand have been folded, or does the potential payoff the times it hits make this a call? In this hand, one guy turned a straight that would have given me a flush, and the other rivered trips.

I'm not trying to be results oriented by showing this particular hand. I just bring it up becuase it shows the potential for King-Rag Suited.

MP ($213.37)
Hero ($86.95)
SB ($152.70)
BB ($35)
UTG ($98.59)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG raises to $4, MP calls $4, 2 folds, BB calls $3.

Flop: ($12.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets $1, UTG calls $1, MP calls $1.

Turn: ($15.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets $1, UTG raises to $6, MP calls $6, BB folds.

River: ($28.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $9, MP calls $9.

Final Pot: $46.50

Results in white below:
UTG has Ks Qs (three of a kind, queens).
MP has 9s Ts (straight, queen high).
Outcome: MP wins $46.50.

Standard fold, especially if you're not full stacked.

These hands are so hard to get paid off when they hit hard OOP. They are also expensive when drawing. If that's not enough to fold, flopping a lone king can be expensive as well.

I can't see any reason to call here.

foldfoldfold. these type of hands will tend to lose more big pots than win (obv not in this case).

Hero DOES have the button, and Kxs is a hand a lot of folks will be raising with in this spot (or even in the cutoff).

If you were deeper I might contemplate a call. I'd probably fold it here though.

This is a perfect situation for calling w/Kxs. You have position and a multiway pot. Playing fit and fold on the flop isn't hard and while yes, draws can be pricy, just play for odds, not hard.

Then again, you are pretty much playing for flush value, since you likely have one dominated card. Its a matter of play style certainly, but if ever there was a place to call with Kxs, this is it.

Folding or calling is OK. I certainly call with K7s+ because it has much better 2-pair possibilities (less likely to get counterfeit).

Be sure to remember that Kxs has a fair amount of reverse-implied odds when you hit your flush w/o the A of the suit on board. If your opponents are likely to pay you off when they make a Q-high or a J-high flush then I'd feel more comfy about it. Probably at these stakes you can count on gettin' paid off by all sorts o' stuff! Yay!

*grunch*
King-rag suited blows. Even with a raise and caller, you won't hit a flush and get paid off enough for it to be profitable. Throw in a little negative-implied against the a nut flush draw, plus some more neg. implied if you end up paying off better kickers if you flop top pair makes this an easy fold.
