This question depends a lot on your image. If your image sucks and you reraise, there's a good chance you will get action from a worse hand.
However, if your image is good and you reraise, you only get calls from hands you beat (thus you call and check raise the turn). Normally though when I play and it's HU, my image is bad enough that I'll get paid off by worse hands here that I 3 bet. |

Against someone who is too aggressive and bluffs too much, I would call and then check the turn. But against someone who will slow down when you call and often take a free card, I would call and then lead the turn.

Another play that I like to use is that if he is a super aggro or super lag. I'd smooth call the flop if you think that he will bet the turn. Now, if you think that he will three barrell with nothing but will fold to your raise on the turn with air then I'd call the turn and bet the river but if he slows down after your call on the flop then I'd go ahead and re pop it. Most of the time your good here against A7 or mid over pair enough to compensate for the times he shows a set and you've got outs against 2 pair.
I HATE loosing all of my money with just one pair! |
