Default I Posed This Question to a Conservative Message Board

They could not answer it:

All of you that are voting Republican say it is because it is the moral thing to do. The Republicans have run the deficit up to unprecented levels but they have appointed some conservative judges and at least pay "lip service" to morality (while some of them are involved in immoral things). All of you cite the judiciary as a primary motive to vote Republican.

I ask you this:

How do you reconcile your desire for conservative judges with the fact that you are ripping off your children and grandchildren by supporting this fiscally reprehensible government?

So far, nothing but flames.

EDIT: Conservatives here may feel free to answer. Hint: Don't use the War on Terror as an excuse...I got ammo.

Count this conservative as rooting for the Dems and gridlock. However most conservatives I'm sure are convinced that the Democrats will spend freely on the nanny state(moreso than Repubs) and reduce the rate of increase in military expenditures. As to the war on terror, many conservatives I'm sure are worried about the tendency of Democrats to be reactive as opposed to proactive.

YAWN....
I vote for republicans because I believe in what they say.
I dont vote for democrats because I believe they will do what they say.

Now if only we can get republicans to do what they say, we will be in business.

Yeh, it's loaded and it's a little insulting. It's the truth, though. You and I both know it's basically true, though.

Exactly. I wish you the best of luck with that. Would you care to make a wager on that? Cite me the '08 Republican platflorm. If they mention anything about a "balanced budget," I'll give you 100-1 on your money if they keep it. Tell me how much you want to bet and I'll tell you if I can cover it.

I hope you are willing to bet on the sham party because it's money in the bank.

Admittedly, that's a new one.

Well, I continuously hope the republican party will return to the days of reagan when they had a backbone and did what was right.

10% chance conservatives do what I want them to do
0% chance democrats do what I want them to do

Its really about simple. I am fed up with both political parties. But when push comes to shove, I tend to vote republican because i feel there is a CHANCE they will do the right thing.

is this a rhetorical question or do you really want people to compare only these two issues?

I don't care about conservative judges, and as for the kids, there's nothing like a good challenge to build some character and problem solving skills.
