10 day clock starts when it is delivered to him. It was not delivered until Tuesday, 10/3 so it is the last possible day before it defaults to a law anyway.

correct. if he doesn't sign it then it automatically becomes a law.


I wonder why they take so long sometimes to sign these things.
What's wrong with just signing it right after you get it? Pretty sure he and his advisors already know what it contains and he certainly knows he's not going to veto it.

Maybe to push it as close as possible to the midterm elections so as to "look strong on homeland security".

Stop complaining... at least this gives extra time to play at sites that are otherwise going to kick us off when the bill is signed into law. I'm glad he is waiting as long as possible - in some really perverse way, we can thank Foley for that. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
