Default flop peel?

20/40 game at the borgata

villain in this hand appears to be a regular in the 20/40 even though I've never played with him before. he's a nice enough guy and seems to play somewhat decent but a little too ABC. he and I had some recent history before this hand. earlier he raised preflop, I 3bet him with 99.

flop came A 9 x. he bet, I called.
turn was a blank, he bet, I raised, he called.
he check/called another blank river. AQ no good.

he was kinda pissed about my waiting till the turn to pop him but kind of joking around about it. mentioning how he was waiting to find a hand to put a bad beat on me, etc...

villain opens in MP, I'm directly on his left and 3bet on the CO w/ AQo, folded to him and he just calls.

flop is J 7 2 rainbow

he donks it, call or fold or raise?

If you say he is a little too ABC, I think a flop raise is best. If he 3-bets you know where you stand. If not you can check a blank turn, if he is real timid you may even get to SD for free.

I think this is a good spot to fold.

I'd just call and hope the turn card spooks him. Raising is not a good idea, but folding might be the best move--I just don't have it in me yet.

AJ/QJ are both hands that are likely and that will get us into trouble on later streets.

Also, KJ/J10, could get us into trouble if a 10 turns and you think your Q/A is also good.

I think I fold here. I don't think he's likely to be bluffing here, and ABC players are much faster to raise paint than 99/88 here and donk this flop.

yeah, he's probably ahead right now, but his range is much mor than just some jack. A lot of players will donk here with a pocket pair. Def. peel here and play the rest of the hand assuming he has 99.

I think peeling can work here especially if he remembers your previous hand how you waited for the turn. He might freeze up on the turn and give you free card - afraid you are just waiting to pop him on the turn. This is fairly common with live players.

1sb to see teh turn and river for free sounds good to me.

This makes no sense, why do you even need a showdown, you certainly do not have the best hand.
