IG \"Hail Mary\" approach
I will not pretend to be an expert on federal or even state legislation. All of my knowlege comes from 2 + 2. Daily (actually several times a day) I review the posts in the legislation thread. Bluff's thread re: lobbying for an exemption for poker is a longshot; however, it may not be completely unrealistic. Several articals have made claims that the U.S. poker community (online gaming in general) was back doored with legislation. President Bush's administration has be accused by former advocates of his administration of being misleading re: war in Iraq. Lastly a congressman has admitted to having sex with an underage page and the worst part about it is that other high ranking officicals may have had knowledge of it and tried to minimalize it or cover it up. Especially with election coming up many of our legislaters should have open ears. Most of the threads are aimed at voting democrat. I am a registered republican. I have alway voted republican. Most of the people I affiliate with are repulicans. Some of these people are good contributers to the republican party and candidates. I have spoken with several of them and they are all writing our U.S. rep/sen. I hope (hail mary part) that by mobilizing registered Republicans to lobby for an exemption that an exemption to IG bill can be considered when congress reconvenes in December. I am sure that there are thousands of registered Republicans that have some networking ability. I think its worth a try.
