Default B&M $200NL game: Just one of those things or ... ?

Situation is that the table has been playing for about an hour and the action has been fairly loose, especially preflop. My stack is about $250 and the Villains is about $200. The Villain in this hand has only just sat down. The pot has been limped and I limp in with a pair of Red 7s. Preflop we have 7 runners in for $3.

Flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Everyone Checks.

The Turn is the 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I bet $25 and the Villain Calls.

I cannot remember the River card, but it is most likely a blank.

I bet $50 and the Villain now goes All-In - I make the Call for another $116.

I lose the pot as he is holding K9o - incidentally I was in MP and he in LP.

My question is - with special consideration to our stack sizes - could I have lost any less on this hand (either by Folding to the All-In Raise or by Check/Calling the River? A follow up question is, how big would our stacks have to be for one to consider a more defensive line with my hand?

cheers

LB

People don't limp KK in multiway pots. We just don't worry about quads so the only hand you have to worry about is K9. You are supposed to go broke. This I just a lame beat post.

No. Actually I'm after a little intelligent feedback. Are you saying you would go broke with this hand no matter what the stack sizes? What if you each had $2000 in front of you after the action on the Turn?

With the stacks the way they are, yes I'm busted on this hand.

If they were bigger, then if the action was in proportion (ie all bets were x10), then yes i'd still go bust on this hand.

If he had 2000 behind here, and I only had 200 I'd also still go bust.

If he had 2000 and I had 2000 and the pot was ~150 on the river then I might well at least consider folding, but seems a highly unliklely situation to be in.
