Live MTT w/ low buy in- Are you playing this any different?
Early on in a live B&M tourney I came across this hand.
Blinds 50/100 (2nd Limit) Starting chips 3000 Limits going up every 15 mins. Hero is in MP with 3150 chip count Villian is BB with 4500 chips (due to being a regular they gave him more chips than me, seems unfair but oh well the buy-in was $27 bucks). Villian's image is limited only to that he was playing 3-6 limit poker prior to tourney and has played that kind of style in the tourney thus far. Meaning loose and limp calling a lot. Given that they gave him the regular player chip bonus I'm assuming he plays 3-6 frequently. The hand: Hero in middle position Raises to 350 with J,J. CO and BB call. Pot is 1100, Flop is 5c, 3h, 8c. What do you do? I pushed. Any suggestions are helpful. |

Push is ok. Maybe just bet 1k or so, so if someone made a set you get out with some chips. I'm not worried about an overpair, I think AA/KK reraises you pre-flop.

I probably bet 800 and call a push. If called, evaluate the turn.
