Default Where to play now?

When Party disconnects the US, and if Stars follows suit, what sites do ya'll think will be the best?

Paradise is one of the biggest remaining, and World Sports Exchange has eliminated the rake, which is very interesting, although I hear they have some software issues that they are working on.

WSEX isn't actually making money with their pokersite right? So I see no problem with that site anyway

Are their tourneys fee free?

And IIRC, they give the rake back at the end of the month, so they might invest the rake during that time period.

stars' decision is going to be HUGE in terms of game selection, and more specifically getting americans to be willing to take what they may perceive as a risk in depositing. they're big enough of a name that people will be more willing to trust them

if stars backs out, then i think full tilt is in best position to become THE site to play on. they already have a pretty decent player base and having done a fantastic job marketing, so i think people will be more willing to play there than other sites.

i think it's important for a new consensus #1 site to be around. the player pool for online poker in US-allowing sites will be a good amount smaller than a month ago, so naturally the games will be fewer and worse. but it will not be as bad if most of the action is concentrated on one site, as opposed to being dispersed between many of the smaller sites.

Well, I don't see how they can make money with no rake. It is probably a promotion to draw players to their sportsbook.

Everything is rake free - they pay the players back every Monday. Also, they make money off their sports book/casino.

i agree josh. if one site emerges as the leader and almost all u.s. traffic goes through that site and there are reliable, well known ways of getting funds to and from that site, then i'd say when the dust settles we may find that the game selection is actually as good or better than it was prior to the legislation. but that is a lot of wishful thinking too.
