Default dog walks with a limp

After I took my dog to get his hair cut and nails clipped at PetsMart, he has been walking with a nasty limp. This is the second time it's happened. The first time the limp went away after 1.5 weeks.

What is my play here? Get it checked out at the animal hospital first or go complain at PetsMart?

Maybe you should stop taking your dog to be groomed at petsmart?

Take your dog to the vet if you're concerned about it. I would have figured they had quicked you dog, except you said it didn't go away for 1.5 weeks. Lots of stuff could have happened when the dog was on the table.

I'd go to a smaller, independant dog groomer place next time. These huge pet shop chains are known for not actually taking very good care of the animals.

Is there a noticable wound on the dog?

Maybe they clipped a vein on one of the toenails?

I'm not going back there for sure.

I think they did clip a vein because when i grab his paw to see the foot that he's keeping the weight off of, he growls at me and pulls away. If I go to the vet, and they confirm this... how do I go about getting a refund/vet bill paid? I'm kind of a bitch when it comes to complaining so I'm kind of a newb when it comes to this.

Id just take her back, talk to the person at the counter, show how they hurt your dog by clipping into the vein ask for a refund or some free food or something.

Oh and obviously tell them this is the 2nd time its happened, so whoever is doing the clipping is either blind or not good at clipping dog nails.

And dont go back there for this treatment.

If all they did was clip your dog's quick (the vein in their toenail), it shouldn't cause the dog to limp for long after it has happened. It hurts when it happens to them, but doesn't really cause them to be sore. Quicking a dog isn't that big of a deal. More likely they damaged a paw pad when trimming the hair on your dogs feet.
