Default ($10 live) Call all-in with set and top kicker on the turn?

Early stages in a 12-man tournament on two tables. Chip values are approximate.

Live No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (6 handed)

Button (t1800)
SB (t2500)
BB (t1900)
Hero (t2300)
UTG+1 (t1600)
CO (t1900)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero calls t50, UTG+1 calls t50, two folds, SB raises to t250, BB folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (t800) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB bets t200, Hero calls, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: (t1200) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
SB bets t200, Hero raises to t700, SB pushes all-in, Hero?

My read on SB: Out of the 12 people playing he's probably one of the best 3 or 4, typical TAG. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would call the all-in here. I generally never fold a set unless the board really sucks (not the case here). If he has 66 or 77, then that just sucks and your going to lose a lot of chips, but he could just as easily have an overpair and just trying to price out the flush draws.

You're calling half your stack off so you're effectively getting 3-1 odds on your money.
What hands could he have? Remember, you described him as good and he raised in the SB.
Pretty much any 3 other than A3 is out and even that's doubtful. 6-3 or 7-3? No way.

66-AA
AKs is out unless it's specifically of clubs.
KQs is a slight possibility.

So even of that narrow range, you're tying one, destroying most of them and losing to just two 66 and 77. I'm not going to get into the various probabilities here of each one occurring but you're winning this way way more often than the 1 out of 4 times you need to break even here.

Call.

1. This is an easy call, he most likely has an overpair. The only hands that can reasonable beat you are 66 and 77.

2. I think the main question here is why are you playing A3o UTG? This is a terrible limp preflop out of position, and an even worse call of the raise. You got ridiculously lucky to hit the flop that you did.

3. You do not have a set. You have trips. A set is when you have a pair in your hand, and a third card of the same rank is on the board. A set is much stronger than trips, do you see why?

I honestly didn't know there was a difference between a set and trips, that's interesting. Thank you.

You're right, I should have raised UTG or folded, and my pf call after the BB raise was very weak.

Nonetheless, he had 66s for the boat, busted me, and was confounded as to why I called. I said I put him on a PP when he pushed and I was beating all but two PPs.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Fold preflop. This is a serious leak.

His raise pf was semi-questionable. He wasn't that dominating of a stack and his raise gives good odds for at least one caller, where he's going to be out of position the rest of the hand.

But given that he raised with 66, his range of hands MUST be 66-AA in which case you're beating 7/9 of them. So it's a clear call.

Unlucky you ran up against the 66. It happens. But here's a question you really need to answer.

What flop were you hoping for when you decided to play A3 UTG?
Answer: the exact flop you got. Seriously, that flop is just about as good as you can hope for here.

So if you're afraid to stick your stack in in this spot or if you're questioning the call afterwards you really need to ask yourself why you're playing A3 in the first place.

Every decision in this hand is very easy. Fold PF (raising would be suboptimal, but still would be waaaay ahead of limping). FOLD TO THE RAISE. It's a big raise, and your hand sucks on toast.

After the flop comes, your task is to get as many chips into the pot as possible, and you did that.
