Offshore accounts
Let's say I had a Swiss Bank Account, would I be able to use this account to play online poker from the U.S.? From what I understand of this new law, U.S. banks are not allowed to transfer money to gambling sites. But it does not make it illegal to play online poker in the U.S., it just goes after banks and credit card companies. So wouldn't it be perfectly legal to use an offshore account to play online poker?

Re: Offshore accounts
As mentioned in another thread, this could be considered money laundering, which of course is illegal. Whether or not you'd ever get caught is another issue altogether, as the Swiss aren't exactly known for disclosing bank secrets, but there are still potential risks.
US seems to be turning into China #2 quick, so why not just pack your bags and move to a free country? |

Logic tells me to do this, but emotional attachments to my friends and family are holding me back [/ QUOTE ] If you truly love them, you take them with you. Though seriously, I think it's best just to wait and see what happens. I have a feeling we haven't seen the end of this, yet. |
