Default B&M UNITE

This internet ban thing has the geeks up in arms.

1) Read their posts all they say is how the Internet players are going to walk into our respective card rooms and stomp us.

2) Read all the NEW posts about them trying to computerize our B&M rooms.

Maybe I'm ranting but does anyone feel the same way I do.
I have 2 computers and a laptop in my house if I wanted to play online I would. But I would much rather hang out at my local cardrooms with a beer chat with my friends and try to beat up on my enemys.

I mean don't we have the home field advantage against the Internet players..... at least in the beginning.

1) They don't have a readout of table stats (They will have to watch for 30 min OR if it's like the WA card rooms there will only be 3 tables to choose from anyway

2) Can they handle the pace (at least at first) It sure will be tempting for them to watch T.V. or read a mag or turn up the IPOD

3) Internet Steamers we all know the chatbox steamers (even good internet players do this now and then) it's hard to call someone a Bleepity Bleep right to their face in real life. So they hold all that anger inside tilting their dough away.

We all know that the TOP notch godly internet players would be able to make this transition because they are GREAT players but if they are that good I'm sure they will find a way around the ban anyway.

4) I'll be looking under the table for those shaking legs

5) Top internet omaha players or stud players might have trouble if the B&M only spreads HE

I don't know I'm rambling But we have to unite B&Mer's I assume we all play in local casinos because we like the atmosphere. Do we really want the nerd bringing computer screens into our casinos. Why would I play online in a casino when I could do it at home.

Does anyone feel we must protect our cardrooms from the monster that is the Internet Player ???????

Not everyone lives near a B&M casino. I prefer to play there, but being 5.5 hours from one tends to cut down on my visits. Long libe the internet.

Your average online player is better than your average B&M player. True story. When they show up to the casinos, they will own the games because 1) they are more aggressive 2) they are more aggressive and 3) they are more aggressive.

The weaker opponents will get steamrolled.

It's all just talk to me.

Give me math, give me facts, show me proof.
There is no PokerTracker in B&M

All I hear is uhhh uhhh I'm an internet player i'm "aggressive" I bet bet bet.

A lot of B&M games where I'm from are "aggressive" if the pot is capped before the betting even get's to him I don't think his aggressiveness means much.

I still think it's 100% easier to launch a big bluff against someone online than in B&M. I'm a firm believer in the "Internet Ego" they will walk into a card room and want everyone to think they are the best player. And where they would bluff online they wont in the card room because they would'nt want their ego's hurt by showing a 2-5 offsuit.

I'm rambling again. All I ask (and I will shut my mouth if you can give me some cold hard math, facts or any proof that internet players are better than B&M

One thing to add

1) There are millions of Online players

2) There are NOT millons of B&M players

You can argue that there are MORE good internet players because of the gigantic player pool out there.

That does not mean they are better than B&M players it just means that there are more Internet players.

1) Internet pros play poker for a living
2) B&M pros play poker for a living

They are both poker pro's who make their rent money from poker why is the assumption always that the internet player is better?

1) Internet player has thousands of tables to choose from and millions of players to choose from even with a monster database he can only keep track of so many players.

2) B&M players (for the most part) play with the same people EVERY day they know who the newbies are. They know if a game is profitable just by looking around and knowing who's there. That's a skill that's earned with time not just handed out for free by a website.

1)Internet players make more money online well that's obvious
more tables, better selection, a pool of millions of fish and on and on and on.

2) B&Mer's must learn who the fish are and do whatever possible to keep them coming back (buy drinks, offer smokes, lunch etc etc.

The point is Internet players are NOT better then us everything has been handed to them on a silver platter.

People who grew up near card rooms, grinded it out, learned who the opponents were learned the good games, played the slow tempo blah blah blah the fact is we EARNED the right to call ourselves good players we were not hand fed it on a silver platter.

Will internet players make it sure the best always do but it's going to take a while to develop the skills that we had to develop over a long time.

I have no trouble beating up on internet players at my cardroom. Without HUD's they are totally lost, and they don't have the patience necessary for B&M play.

1000 new players coming to my room. Do you have any idea how drunk I would get waiting 3 hours just to get a seat at a 3-6 game
