Hasselbeck is on a bye this week, who should I start, Leftwich or Alex Smith?

Help me decide! Tough matchup versus a team with McNabb/Bulger, Portis/Jackson but not great K/D/TE but has Holt (rediculously retarded trade).

I'm worried about Gore. He's been inconsistant the last 2 games and has had fumbling problems. Denver players vs Bal also are a HUGE risk. My saving grace is I have Peyton vs Tennessee, Chicago D vs Buf and Gould vs Buf. Gates vs Pit doesn't seem that great but will see, hopefully they HAVE to pass against Pitt.

In one league i have Seattle DEF and Josh Brown and really no one to drop for them. Is dropping both of them for Vanderjagt and NE DEF ok?

A couple things...

1. C. Palmer is on a bye, I have Brad Johnson (vs. Detroit) as my backup. Should I pick up Mark Brunell (at NYG) and start him instead?

2. I have St. Louis defense (at Green Bay) and NYG (vs. WAS). Which one should I start? I don't like keeping two defenses....which one should I drop?

Will share my thoughts later. Thanks!

Against that Giants pass D, Brunell is a no-brainer. Washington showed last week they can put up some points.

I'd start St. Louis of these two. But I'd also check to make sure KC wasn't available first.

Who should I start?

Rex Grossman or Rex Grossman?

(sorry Rex, I'll never doubt you again, bro.)

Thanks McGee. KC's defense is available

FWIW I'm a Giants fan, just wanted a reality check on these situations. I gave up an injured RB to lock up Brunell, so I've got that covered. Thinking of giving up NYG to get KC's defense...I don't think anyone will rush to pick up the Giants, and I can get them back if I need to. And if I don't, I'll have KC and STL. After going 1-3, I'm giving my entire team a hard look.

So assuming I do that, whose defense should I keep between KC and STL? KC's already had their bye, and they haven't played Oakland yet this year....STL hasn't had a bye yet, and their schedule looks tougher. Thanks!

I'm a Giants fan, too, but our pass defense is just horrendous. I know that Detroit's is, too, but Brunell has more weapons available.

I'd probably keep KC's D/ST, although I'm the type to play matchups every week.

D/ST Scoring:
Sack - 2; Int - 2; Forced Fumble - 1
Defensive/Punt/Return TD - 6
Safety - 2; Shutout - 10

I have the Bengals D/ST but they're on a bye this week. The two best WW options IMO are:

49ers vs. OAK: Oakland is really that bad and have given up huge numbers to great teams and CLE had a few swipes at them. Potential rebound for 49ers?

Patriots vs. MIA: Culpepper is sacked ~5 times/game so far this season and the Patriots aren't slouches themselves.

Chiefs @ ARI: Arizona has a horrid OL and ATL showed it. But the Chiefs D was flaccid for two weeks until SF. Thoughts?

Need some help this week since I'm playing the #1 scoring team in league. My QB situation is iffy, I traded away Hassleback to get LJ, and just dumped Warner so I have a whole new squad of QBs. Carr is on bye though. Right now I have Leftwich started, but I am projected for a good bit less than him even with LJ at Ari, so I looking for some big plays and it seems Smith could be that even though he's coming off a terrible game

Edited to add I see pretty much the same situation was posted at top of page
