Default Post Emails You\'ve Sent to Senator Frist Here

I'll start...

Senator Frist -

I'm obviously outraged at the speed of which your Internet Gambling bill was passed, and how ignorant the US Government as well as yourself are about the process of online gambling.

What bothers me the most is how you and your political buddies have failed to see both sides of the story. As well as failing to remedy the situation in a fair manner. I know for a fact that an outright banning is completely ignorant, and not the right answer. I don't know whether you're doing this to flex some political muscle in an attempt to be a do gooder prior to your 2008 Presidental campaign, or because you feel online gambling is that detrimental to our society.

I realize the US is heartbroken because it's something us citizens can do and get away with without being taxed. Much like the millions of illegal immigrants are doing when they are working under the table and laundering millions of dollars each year back into Mexico and other countries.

Which issue is more important here? Gambling, or illegal immigration? With your educational background I'm sure you can figure out the answer to that question. I'll give you a hint, it's probably not gambling.

I urge you and the powers that be to figure out a better way to crack down on this issue, and come to terms with something more civilized, and less facist.

My proposal, come in agreements with third party sites like Neteller and have them tax a certain percentage on each withdrawl. The US government would then seize that percentage taken. Bingo! This sounds much like a better way, than just a complete ban.

A few parting words for you Mr. Frist. Please take a look at what you're doing and why it's assanine. Perhaps you should wager some of your income in an online poker game. You may even get lucky and make a buck or two.

Not a fan of yours,

Tony Lane

If your going to send him an email. Instead of mentioning taxing our Neteller accounts, why not tell him he lost a vote in the presidential elections. Hit him with something he cares about.

Senator Frist,

As a lifelong Conservative Republican, your recent crusade on online gambling is sickening to me. You've attempted to and apparently successfully taken something I enjoy a great deal and basically criminalized it under the guise of preventing terrorism.

I find it unconscionable that the party who says the value states rights and small government has taken steps to limit American's access to things they love to do. Your big government mentality has made me ashamed to say I'm a Republican and actually has made me change party affiliation to undeclared.

We are a nation of gamblers, of innovators and of people who yearn to life free. Your actions regarding online gambling are pathetic and are simply part of your pandering to the religious right that has unfortunately taken hold of your party.

I choose to gamble online, even though I have a poker room a half hour from my house because I enjoy it. I don't have to risk to much money to play (you cannot sit at a card table at my local casino with less than $80) and it's less of a hassle. I bet on sports online rather than the numerous bookie's I know because I can shop competitively and I can only wager what I actually deposit, rather than getting in over my head with someone who will break my legs if I don't.

Just like with alcohol and tobacco, which I have yet to see you go after, maybe I missed that bill, gambling is a recreational activity for a vast majority of people and a problem activity for a minute minority. Sadly, rather than fulfilling the contract with America and ridding us with an overburdenous government, as majority leader, you've made every complaint the left has with Republicans true.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad I have Schumer and Clinton as my Senators rather than you. At least they're honest with their constituents and don't do things under the guise of homeland security to further their 'moral' agenda. Thanks Senator Frist.

Btw, I'm off to go play keno and scratch offs at my local bar, maybe head over to the casino for some slot machines, then over to the church for some bingo. If I get home early enough, maybe I can catch the last race at Santa Anita via the OTB.
