3xbb is fine if he isn't too aggressive of a player. You have too many chips to shove.

I'll often call here too. You can win a lot chips post flop because he'll never give you credit for hand this good. You are also less likely to go broke by keeping the pot small.

If he raises from the BB after you call, you have the option of calling or shoving. Read dependent.

Just raise it, if he has nothing he will fold anyway. If you also make it look like a steal he will not think you have such a powerhouse as you do. So when, if, you hit the flop you can destroy him... hopefully

[/ QUOTE ] Interesting. Another advantage of this line (and why I will occasionally do it) is because a lot of players will try to push or re-raise you here with weak aces etc.

I just put in a standard raise here. Although this is the bubble, it's pretty deep stacked (I'm never in this situation!). So, there is some play left here, so I'm not getting shove happy this early.

That being said, I don't think it's a clear call if he pushes on you. I actually think it's probably a fold against most villains if they reshove on you here.

I think you're right...how's the math work out? that if a big stack pushes all in you need AA or KK to call on the bubble?

It's range dependent.

I probably call here with QQ+. I think both 3x BBing and completing are fine.
