What shapes a politican into a political whore like Frist?
Other than an rampant case of Assclownism with a side of political douchebagery. What shapes a politican in to the kind of person who does this and so much else to the majority of middle of the road people?
Did uncle feelyhands spend to much time with him?

He's incapable of caring about middle class people. You have to realize that he is from an extremely wealthy and privileged background, as his family money comes from HCA, one of the first hospital chains. A middle class person is not a real human being of any importance to these people -- just a resource to be drilled for whatever money he may have in his possession and then it's on to the next person or family. Only Frist's peers -- other wealthy people -- are "real" people capable of the finer feelings. Frist would not be any more capable of caring about your feelings or concerns than he was capable of identifying with the cats that he operated on in medical school. They were just a tool for learning. You and your family are just walking wallets there to be emptied by the health care industry. The psychology of it is really that simple and that brutal. People identify with and care about people who are like them. You as a middle class person are not like Dr. Frist.
I know, we like to pretend that we are all created equal in this country, but it is not human nature to really believe that. Rich people do consider themselves better than those of us who made the poor decision not to have rich parents, and they want to pull the ladder up so that the little people who are "not our kind" won't try to marry their daughters. I don't even think it's a mental illness. It's just an ugly reality of human nature. If we were rich, we wouldn't give a damn about "trash" that has to play poker to pay the bills either. I know you're not trash. You know you're not trash. But if you were Dr. Frist, from his perspective, it's simply impossible for him to see any reason that a decent person would have to do this.
