Read on villain was that he was a cautious/tight player. Besides losing a big pot, was this bluff okay?

Default Re: 25NL -- AJs attempted bluff

Folding to the flop min-checkraise would be simpler.

If Villain is a tight/cautious player and he's checkraising you on a king-high flop, what do you think he probably has? Probably top pair or better. And if by some chance it's a flush draw instead (unlikely), well, that got there on the river.

Which I guess means your river push represents the flush, but Villain is getting 3:1 by that point.

Anyway, the thing is, you don't have much on the flop and your hand has little chance to improve meaningfully. So even though what happened is that you picked up a draw on the turn and Villain bet small and gave you good odds, I think over the long run you'll do better by ditching your hand on the flop versus this player on this board.

Of course, I guess it's looking like there is no long run for us online poker players, what with last night's legislation . . . I guess I'm continuing to post here this morning because I'm in denial.
