Default *** OFFICIAL Arbitrage Posting Thread ***

Per idea raised in this thread we're going to try a singular thread for people to share arbitrages.

As a community, once you've maxed an arbitrage opportunity if you share that with other people, you'll get more arbitrage opportunies shared with you, etc. Most arbitrages include "square" books with low limits so its pretty frequent that you can max an arbitrage and then there's no reason not to share...

We'll see how this goes. If it doesn't work out, we'll go back to allowing people to post arbs in their own threads.

I'll be locking/moving any other arb posts to this *** OFFICIAL Arbitrage Posting Thread *** while we try out this new policy.

Feedback welcome by PM, or start a new thread to discuss if you have points to share with the whole forum. Let's not clutter this thread with too much feedback, if we can help it.

Is this intended to be a crappy 0-2c arb thread for bonus clearers, or are we looking to only get the big ones?

The Valuev/Barrett fight at WWTS and pinnacle has been -450/+451 for a long time. However it'll tie up your money for a week and both sites only clear with the lower of risk/win amount.

I like the idea. I posted the only one I've ever found here. Not sure if this would be considered a "good" one or not though (+137 v. -110).

that's almost definitely a "bad line" and you may risk getting the bet cancelled before the game starts. even worse, a low-reputation book like BetUS may "freeroll" you and only decide to cancel the bet if it WINS, but not to do anything if it loses. since you like the astros, your best case scenario is to hope they cover runs on the road.

you may want to call and ensure that you will have action on that -110.

I'm starting to get a bit worried since a few people see it this way, but I'm going to likely ride it out and hope for the best. If BetUS tries to pull something like that, I'll rip them every chance I get and even shoot off a letter to Jesse Ventura himself who "promised" me that they are "the best." Shouldn't this thread be stickied?

this forum does not allow unlocked sticky threads. if stickied it could not be appeneded with new scalps.

That's correct. Per 2+2 policy, we've got a sticky that points to this thread, that's the best we can do.

I'd say anything 0EV or better, personally, but its up to the forums.

I think even posting neutral or 1c+ arbs will help people - the Valuev/Barrett fight example is a good example of one that I still think is worth posting.

I believe it's in a sportsbooks t/c's or rules that if a line is considered a mistake or something to that effect at the time the sportsbook becomes aware of it they can at there discredition cancel all wagers. Language that certainly sides with the sportsbooks. If i'm wrong then i stand corrected

It's almost definitely going to end up being mostly even money arbs. The good arbs tend to disappear within minutes. If they don't, they are probably on futures or other long-term bets that will tie up your money for quite some time.

Sharing arbs is best done over IRC or some other kind of real-time chat program.
