I've heard of Sonic Youth. Didn't know they were still around though.

Bonnie Prince Billy
Yo La Tengo
Xiu Xiu
Belle and Sebastian

Haven't absorbed the new Sparklehorse yet, but it will likely slide in there as well.

I've only listened thru it twice, but I have to say I was a tad bit underwhelmed. It was def good, but I just expected it to be better. A lot of that has more to do with me than the album I suppose. Maybe it will grow on me though.

Why don't you take a chance on downloading a few of these albums and then come back and tell us what you think? The fact is that there's more great music out there these days then ever, and it's far easier to find thanks to the internet. Conversely, the lowest common denominator gets lower and lower, because the music lovers in the crowd have so many other choices. There aren't going to be too many U2s and Radioheads from this point forward.

How is the Band of Horses album? Love "Funeral," haven't heard the rest.
