Re: (60) JJ...check up please
I don't think you can make this call. What do you do if he follows up for 500 on the turn or river? Then if you make the call you've risked 1/3 of your stack early on on a hand that may or may not be good.
If I were set on playing this hand I'd make it 400 on the flop and fold to a reraise. This gives you the chance to take it here, and probably lets you check behind on the turn and hopefully the river as well. I'd probably just fold this though |

Re: (60) JJ...check up please
If I'm calling pre-flop, with one cold-caller and likely at least one more in (one of the blinds getting odds), I'm playing mostly for set value. I'd be inclined to re-raise to about 500 against a 50/40, even over just a few hands. You're surely ahead of the ranges of both he and the caller. If someone pushes, I'd probably fold, but I'd at least think about calling UTG.
I'd raise the flop, because that bet seems so weak. I'd bump it to 400ish, and shut down unimproved if called. |

Re: (60) JJ...check up please
Why not reraise pf if this guy is a bit mental?
As played, I think the flop bet is weak and I reraise to 400 and probably fold to a push. Is this bad? |

Re: (60) JJ...check up please
I'd probably just push preflop, and I'm not usually one for such tactics. 9 hands isn't a lot, but he still looks to be playing a ton of hands and isn't likely slowing down as he approaches early position, so I think we should be comfortably thumping his range. The call doesn't faze me too much either.
I don't really mind folding out 66-88 type hands because against two opponents I'm not likely to want to push very hard with JJ postflop, particularly if any overcards fall, and so extracting decent amounts from them will be tough. Any raise to isolate is going to be substantive enough that the pot will be very large and you'll be unlikely to want to leave, and will still fold out a lot of the hands that you beat. 99 and TT will stack off with you reasonably often, as will AT, and you'll end up with the occasional flip and the even more occasional domination, but I don't think these dangers are too big. |

[/ QUOTE ] lemme tell you how often i raise 5 of the first 9 hands in a sng (now 6/10). never. this guy is a lag fish. push pre and either pick up the 285 or get called by his A8. once you get to this flop.... ugh. i guess call but don't go broke. which is why calling pre sucks. |
