and my candidate for best political scandal of the year goes to ...
Jeanine Pirro! Congratulations, Jeanine.
For those of you outside the NY area, here is the background. Pirro is the current Westchester County DA and a frequent tv commentator. For years, she's been considered a darling of NY republicans, with hopes of higher office. She bowed out of the Senate race earlier this year, and is now running for state Attorney General. Last night, the story broke that she was conspiring with former NYC police Commissioner, Bernie Kerik, to bug her husband's boat, in order to catch him having an affair. Only problem is that it happens to be illegal, and not there are multiple state and federal investigations going on. During a press conference, she tearfully claimed the investigation was politically motivated, the same claim many criminal defense lawyers have frequently made against her through the years. One story can be found here: Poor Pirro Do you have a more amusing political scandal of the year? |

Oh, the time that during a press conference GW Bush ragged on someone wearing sunglasses inside as a fashion statement, where it later turned out that person was registered as blind.

I'd assumed that Broken Glass Can was going to post this and ask rhetorically whether NY voters were ready to end the corruption. I guess he missed it.

JP isnt likely to let go until the leaker is prosecuted either. Another Dem dirty trick..many more to come. |
