Default TP + NFD on Paired Board - WTF DO I DO!!!!

2nd orbit, no reads. The turn feels like a J a high percentage of the time. If I had reads or knew villain was 2p2 or smart, I could spot this as a raising FD. Given my lack of reads, I just don't know what to do on this turn. I don't want to get c/r'd for my stack on the turn.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

UTG ($122.43)
MP ($88.75)
CO ($79)
Hero ($98.50)
SB ($123.55)
BB ($197.10)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, BB calls $3, UTG calls $3.

Flop: ($12.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $8, BB raises to $23, UTG folds, Hero calls $15.

Turn: ($58.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

I would just push the turn. That would be a strange way to play a J on such a drawy board.

A thinking player would never play a jack this way. But I have to catagorize this guy as an idiot, and most bad players would play a jack this way.

No, I know. I just saw 5 other very standard hands posted after me with several replies, and I think this hand merits some discussion.

I'll wait till more regulars get on.

I'm always checking behind here. If he's got a jack he's not folding (and you probably still have outs) and if he doesn't have a jack there really aren't that many cards he can be drawing to, so you don't mind giving a free card.

I don't really see any point in betting.

Just check and re-evaluate on the river.

Easy check. It saves money when he has a jack, and allows you to extract on the river better when he doesn't.
