Default Full Tilt Ripoff

Beware anyone playing at Full Tilt under an affiliate program. They will automatically enter you into freerolls, not notify you and charge your MGR. Then they will misinform you and run you around in circles until you give up. Here is my correspondence with them:

MY email 1

TWIMC

Somehow I was entered into your freeroll tournament today. I didn’t consciously enter it
and if I mis-clicked something in error I wasn’t aware of it. I didn’t
play a single hand and I would like my entry into this tournament to be cancelled.

JV

FT Response 1

Hi Jim,

It appears you have already been blinded out of this tournament, but
since there was no buy-in for this event, your account is unaffected.

As long as the tournament you are registered for has not already begun,
you may unregister from it at any time by:

1) Finding the tournament in the Tournament menu, or by viewing the
tournaments you are registered for through the Requests menu and
double-clicking the listing.

2) Clicking the button that says Unregister in the tournament lobby.

Thanks for writing in, and best of luck in future tournaments!

It seems I was automatically entered into this tournament so I did nothing
to enter it, was not aware that I had entered it and thus could not
unregister.

Does this tournament affect my affilliate’s mgr? If so I want my entry
cancelled.

JV

FT Response 2

Hi James,

Since it has already finished, it is too late to unregister you from it.
Don't worry, however, you having been entered in this tournament does
not adversely affect your account.

Best of luck!

Please directly answer my question.

FT Response 3

Hello James,

As quoted from your previous email: "Does this tournament affect my
affilliate’s mgr?"

Answer: No.

Best of luck on the tables, and if there's anything else we can help you
with, please let us know.

My Email 4

I just checked with my affilliate and the entry into this tournament did
in fact effect his mgr. I am not happy that I was entered into this
tournament without any notification or opportunity to resign from it and
I am even more unhappy that NickR has given me an incorrect response to
my question about the mgr.

Please cancel my entry into this tournament, restore the deduction to my
affiliate's mgr and DO NOT enter me into any more tournaments without
prior notification in order to give me time to resign. Better yet just
don't automatically enter me into any tournaments period.

Regards
JV

FT Response 4

Hello Jim,

Thanks for the reply.

In reviewing your tournament history our records show that you had been
placed into the Aussie Millions promotional tournament automatically,
this is because you had met the criteria of earning 10,000 Full Tilt
points.

Unfortunately this has affected your affiliates mgr as you had not
previously requested to be added to our list of players who are opted
out of the automatic registration into our promotional freerolls.

We do apologize if you were given the incorrect information concerning
this tournament and appreciate your understanding in this situation. As
the incorrect information given was after the fact it did not have a
negative impact in this case and as such we are unable to provide you
with any compensation for the deduction.

In efforts to ensure that you are not added to any further promotional
freerolls in the future, we have sent a request to enter you into the\
list of players who have chosen to opt out of automatically being added
to any promotional freerolls.

Once again we appreciate your understanding and co-operation in this
matter and wish you the best of luck at the tables.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to email us back
again.

Regards,

Neal

I am not happy that I was entered into this tournament without my knowledge, that I was not given an opportunity to unregister and that my affiliate's mgr was charged. I pretty much am looking at it as if you just arbitrarily removed $30 or so from my account.

I am a new Full Tilt customer and I think you can see that I am capable of giving your site a lot of business and provide support for your limit ring games, which frankly need all the support they can get. I also am a part of the online poker community and I regularly report to this community my experiences with various poker sites, good and bad. I would like to tell all my high volume poker friends that Full Tilt is a good place to do business and that they treat you fairly and address your concerns and I would appreciate the opportunity to do so.

JV

To whom it may concern.
This inquiry was forwarded to you several days ago. I would appreciate a definitive answer so I can move on.

FT Response 6

HI Jim,
It looks as though you did participate in the tournament that you mentioned, Aussie Millions 7-Seat Freeroll 9/23/2006 and placed 603. Therefore, since you participated we cannot reverse any fees incurred. If you’d like we can have you eliminated from being eligible from any freerolls or tournaments going forward. If this is something you’d like, please reply to this email.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you!
Regards,
Morgan

Thanks for responding Morgan.

If you check the tournament records you will see that I sat out the entire tournament. I would have unregistered from it if I knew that I was entered but the first I heard of it a table pops up and the tournament is about to start. I even tried to unregister at that time but I couldn't find that option. I assume it was too late.
So that is why I am more than a little put out. You put me in this tournament without my knowledge and didn't give me an opportunity to opt out of it. It wasn't cost free to me. Would you automatically enter me into a $30 tournament and deduct the money from my account? Because that is pretty much what happened. I am out $ 30 and I am not happy at all.

Regards
JV

That's not actually true. I learned about this automatic entry thing and e-mailed them before one of these tournaments started--not the aussie millions but the iron man--and they basically said "okay, we'll unregister you" and they did.

I also had one where I wasn't registered and wanted to play and I e-mailed them and they took care of it in a few hours.

They have their bad moments but generally they're okay which is to say they beat the hell out of Party and are nowhere near close to Stars.

Its funny because they may lose a customer because they are unwilling to refund $30.

I thought it was funnier that the customer is unwilling to let it go.

Why should I quit as long as there is still a dialogue?

Somebody might actually realize what a bad policy it is and fix it.

I thought it would be funny if he could take $30 from FT and give them the same run around and put the whole site on monkey tilt.

I kept a dialog going with Pinnacle Sports for days after they refused to let me cashout without paying a fee (I had not wagered enough of my deposit for their liking). I told them that I understood why they wanted me to wager more to cover the deposit fees, but that I did not believe that this policy had ever been stated in the agreement when I signed up, or posted anywhere on the deposit page. I told them that if this was something I had acknowledged when I either signed up or deposited, I would not give them any more trouble. They continually dodged and ignored my very simple request to provide this information. They told me that it was in their FAQ on their webpage. I told them that this can't be considered binding, because they can't assume that people read it, and I never agreed to it. They also refused to tell me what percentage of my deposit I would have to wager before being allowed to withdraw. In the end, they agreed to let me withdraw after I threatened to never do business with them again.

I seriously wouldn't have argued if they had a legit policy that I had been reasonably made aware of. In the end, I decided to start placing some wagers so that I could cash out without the fee, and won a little money before they let me know that I could cash out without the fee. Their loss.

Hello Full Tilt Poker,

Can you please put me on the list of players who have chosen to opt out of automatically being added
to any promotional freerolls.

Thanks.
