Is this standard for anyone?
1/2 WPEX 10 handed. Two orbits and villain hasn't played a hand. However, previous sessions' notes say: Saw him call down after flopping two pair on draw heavy board once, also saw him raise AK pf, then call down UI to showdown.
Nothing notable about the blinds yet. Hero is the button. Dealt to Hero: Ah Qc Five folds, Villain raises to $2. One fold, hero folds. Been trying to tighten up preflop lately... Too tight? |

Re: Is this standard for anyone?
Do you have any stats on villain?
Generally I think he's raising with a wide enough range in this spot that I want to 3-bet this hand, but I like to LAG it up PF in general. |

Re: Is this standard for anyone?
IMO it is weak and tight. I certainly see the flop and since this may be a steal from late position, I think I iso raise and call a cap. This guy could be stealing light but more importantly your AQ is a nice hand.

I'm at least calling that. If it was a raise from early position, I'd give folding more consideration.

WPEX hides peoples' names on HH's. That's why I've been taking copious notes. Essentially I think I've been LAG'ing it up too much lately, so yesterday I tried to play SSHE pf strategy by the book. These tables can be a tad tighter than SSHE's tight recommendations are for, thus I erred on the side of tighter for this hand. It's just hard to reconcile that this is a clear fold (my LAG mentality). Guess I'm looking for a second opinion. |

And even if it isn't youre still ahead or roughly even with a good portion of his range. I'd 3-bet this against all but the tightest, most passive raisers. |

Re: Is this standard for anyone?
Do you have enough hands with Villian to know this isn't TT or JJ?

Do you have enough hands with Villian to know this isn't TT or JJ? [/ QUOTE ] No. Overall I wanted to use this hand as a barometer for the pf chart in SSHE. I'm trying to tune my pf game from being too loose. This seems like it's right on the edge from the book's point of view. It makes special mention of AQo vs a "loose" raiser, and includes hands (from memory here) such as AT or 77 that they'd need to raise here regularly for you to continue. However, according to these replies the consensus is that this is too tight. I'm trying to find my own personal balance with these varying guidelines. |

Re: Is this standard for anyone?
I think this is a pretty standard 3bet for most guys around here. I 3 bet this, and I'm pretty tight. Most players, especially at WPEX are opening pretty light from the CO or button. I think this is a 3bet and we have the best hand more often than not.
