What\'s up with this Latest Fire Drill?
Every week on this forum, the sky is falling, the sky is falling. But it never falls, and it likely never will.
If there were actually a serious legislative initiative that would take away our right to play online poker, nobody here would know it - because of all the boys crying "Wolf!" Come on guys, can we tone down the breathless excitement and pause long enough to get a grip? Mean-spirited arch-conservatives aren't coming for your poker computers tonite. How about some thoughtful analysis? |

How about some thoughtful analysis? [/ QUOTE ] For 18 years I had a niche consulting job(very well paying)that was lashed to one small federal program. From Newt's arrival as Speaker, every year the Publicans in Washington and my State Legislature tried to nix or change the Program in ways that could threaten my livelyhood. Year after year this never materialized. Eventually, in my small corner of the world, people would say "Cry wolf, cry wolf". Then, finally, the law was changed. Jobs were lost, including mine. Wolves feed. Life goes on. |
