Insane weight loss prop bet

First off, let me say that I highly doubt that I'll be able to win this bet. The only real question I have is if I am getting anywhere near correct odds here.

The bet:

I currently weigh in at a hefty 282 lbs. If I drop 50 lbs. by Jan. 3, 101 days from now, I win the bet. I was offered 50-1 odds and accepted. Did I get ok odds?

My strategy:

I'm aiming to lose about 30-35 lbs. the good old fashioned way of eating less / exercising more. 2-3 days from the weigh in I plan on going on one of those massive weight cutting regimines that wrestlers & fighters go through. Basically dehydrating the hell out of myself.


Again, I don't think I have much of a shot to accomplish this, I'm just looking to see if the odds are right. I personally think that they should be a bit higher, maybe 60 or 70 to 1 but my friend wouldn't budge from 50:1.

Oh, and to get it out of the way, yes I am a crackhead for entering into an extremely unhealthy wager. I recognise that.

50 in 101 days is ez if you are willing to put the work in. Honestly i would not give you more than 2 or 3 to one on your bet.

First off, this isn't unhealthy. You need to lose about 3.5 pounds a week to do this. Dropping 50 pounds from 282 won't be a problem if you come up with a decent plan.

If I weighed 282 I would bet a hefty sum straight up that I could drop 50 pounds in 101 days. Your friend is a sucker 50x over.

These odds are insane.. I would love to bet with your friend at 50:1 as long as he will let me bet something or is this one of those you can only bet $1. at your weight, you can easily drop 30lbs the first month and drop 2.5lbs a week for the next 8 weeks. I know because I have done it. You have to be retarded not to bet as much as he will let you.

Since you didn't mention your height, I'll assume you are of average height, in which case going from 282 to 232 in 101 days shouldn't be all that difficult if you commit to it. You'll feel like crap most of the time, but it's entirely possible.

50:1 is insanely high, what is your age/height? If you are under 25 yrs old and 5'10'' or taller, this can be won easily. I've lost 50 lbs in 80 days just dieting and exercising easily before.
