Default Perler Beads are Awesome

So my girlfriend teaches a pre-school class. Being slightly artistically inclined, I like to help her out with decorations and stuff (drawing door decals, art projects for the kids, etc.)

Anyways, she has these beads that you put on a board and melt them together in patterns with an iron called Perler Beads.

I saw this and immediately thought: "You could make some kickass NES sprites with these."

What was really awesome was she had these magnetic strips to go with them so you can make something with the beads and turn it into a refridgerator magnet.

I am insanely pleased with how this turned out. I'm gonna make a [censored] more I think. Having a coke can sized Mega Man on the fridge is awesome.

My wife has been doing these for years with our kids. Looks like I missed out on some good stuff.

You need to make enough to animate an entire game on your fridge with stop-motion photography.

I dare you.
