Default ipod trade in

OOT,
I have a second generation iPod and I am looking to upgrade to a 30gb video. I was wondering if anyone knew where you could trade in your old ipod for a discount on a newer one. My second generation still works.

I can't imagine anyone giving you hardly anything for a 2G iPod.

op,

2nd gen ipod's are currently going for ~$30 on ebay.

Just throw it a junk drawer or give it to someone, it's probably not worth the hassle.

ilounge.com has this book thingy..i remember reading a list of companies that buy ipods and what their worth, ill try and find/post it

EDIT: according to ilounge's free ipodbook, some ipods are still selling on ebay for around 60 bucks (yes, even the 2gs) but i think you'd be hard pressed to find this price..apple of course will buy them back (or allow you to trade in) for 10% off a new one, but dont know how much that'll help you...

ipodmods.com apparently buys ipods for $30 bucks if they're completely broken, and will buy working units (good screens, etc.) for 100-200, and finally, podswap.com has an ipod value calculator and will sell/buy ipods of almost any condition, so check them out too.

**note, i havent used any of these sites before

Anyone know a good place to buy unopened ipods cheap? I want a new one, as in one thats not opened, but i care less how recently it was released. The original nano is fine, the original Video etc. If its cheap im happy.
