This guy just sat down at the table. SO I had no read on him. Did I over play ak out of position here?

Hand looks good so far. You know that your going to get 3bet every time when you raise the flop and OP has capped PF though.... Would fold the turn when SB bets out again.

Pocket aces happens.

The next time you get a straight with that hand and you're up against AA it'll pay you off.

I guess that's why the pros tell you 20k hands is a drip in the ocean. You will see this so many times if you play poker long enough for it to matter.

I'd say raising the river with just kings might be overplaying it.

I'm going to jump in and say the advice so far in this thread is horrible.

The flop raise is spew against an SB 3-bettor. I can see peeling for your overcard outs, but against an unknown's 3-betting range you're well behind here.

Also, knockonwood,

You should raise the flop here basically never if you think you're likely to get 3-bet.

What was the action when the king hit the turn?

I completely agree. The guy 3-bet preflop and then bet into the preflop capper. What does everyone think we're ahead of that makes raising the flop a good play?

I aggree with Doc.
I like the PF cap but I don't see why we are 3-betting the flop. This guy betting our cap is a pretty strong show of aggression wouldn't you say? This flop raise certainly isn't for value. I simply call on the flop as

neither the post nor the responses make any sense to me. wtf?

We are not OOP. Yes it was overplayed. Just call the flop.

trying to continue the action-

Hero's A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] button raise gets 3 bet by the SB

Flop: (9.00 SB) 5, 9, T (2 players)

so if we bet - call as advocated, K hits on the turn, we raise for value and call a 3 bet. Check-call river UI.

The preflop action (our steal position) convinces me villians on a larger range then normal, good plan for the rest of the hand?
