Default CAP No-Limit

I see that Full Tilt Poker has started a Hold'em game they call "cap NL". It's not really no-limit at all, but a sort of mix: instead of a limit on the size of an individual bet, there's a limit on the total you can bet on a hand--for instance, if the cap is $10.00, then you're considered to be all-in after you've put $10 in the pot.

I haven't tried it yet. Has anyone seen enough of this game to have any insights or opinions about tactics?

Every decision in a no-limit game should take stack sizes into account. In this game, no one has a stack size greater than $10. You shouldn't have to make any more adjustments beyond that.

They're godawful. I found it insanely difficult to take them seriously. It's all-in on the flop poker.

yeah, I was thinking about them too.

Since everyone's stacks are limited to 30bb, the games can have lower variance, and less "poker".

More numbers oriented descisions.

Im thinking that the best strategy is to push "all-in" (bet the max 30bb) when you are either in a coinflip situation, or are only favored by a slimmer margin.

Youre PF starting card requirements should be much tighter- since implied odds are much lower.

Its not NL,in any sense of the word. But, I think the fact that it is new, its worth getting a good strategy together- the edge is definate if played right... and so many players just dont know any better- they'd play it just like they do NL.

You don't want to be calling thin in the hopes of winning a big bet when you make it. Thus, this game is like limit in that you want to invest with the best hand.
