Anyone remember the Homeless guy a few years back?

I was having a discussion with a friend about this homeless guy I saw on ESPN a couple years ago, I wanna say it was in the 2004 WSOP but maybe it was 2003.

Anyway he was a black guy with dreads and broken glasses (like one of the rims was missing IIRC) from the Los Angeles area. He was hysterical, pissing off most of the other players and making long winded speeches. The part that cracked me up the most is he's all decked out in homeless attire, than after a bad beat or something he walks outside and GETS ON HIS CELL PHONE, LOL!

I'm thinking somebody had to stake this guy, and if so kudos to that guy, it was brillant, if I ever get that kind of money I'm going to do the same. Oh by the way the Homeless guy could actually play a little, he made the money I think he won like $40k

Does anybody know who I'm talking about? I wish I knew when ESPN was going to re air that classic episode.

JMa is right; his name is Ellix Powers.
It was in the 2004 WSOP and he was pissing Jim McManus off and it was so entertaining. He made McManus look like an idiot instead of himself, McManus called with queen high only to lose to his king queen LOL. I cant remember if it was limi hold'em or seven card stud. John 'World' Hennigan seemed to get a kick out of it and told McManus that he exactly thinks that people like him are good for poker. Hennigan went on to win the title. Powers kept talking stuff like: "What y'all mad for, we all recieving 10000 bucks for sure??!!" [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I don't know if you're kidding but it was queen high. Ellix kept sayin jack hi tho. It was limit hold em. That one foul mouth woman was in there machine gun sumthin. David Chiu (sp?) was in there as well.
