Re: Party 5/10 QQ scary turn multiway
Seeing as the CO is a fairly passive player, he has the straight here almost always. Certainly we could persuade ourselves that we have outs against J8/98 type hands, but would CO donk these? Perhaps, but a passive player would fear getting check-raised by one of his other 3 opponents who could hold a Ten in his hand. It looks to me like the CO does not want this turn checked through, which means he has the straight a lot of the time.
So I guess my answer is I don't know. Folding feels weak, but I think the way the hand played out, you are getting 5-1 on a calldown and I'd say that CO has the straight at least 80% of the time. Since you have outs to make a higher straight I guess I would call. |

Re: Party 5/10 QQ scary turn multiway
Quite often, his bet will mean he has two-pair and he's overly concerned that the turn will get checked through. Sometimes it will mean he's overly concerned that his straight will get checked through. Once in a while, he will only have top-pair, and the turn card scared him too, so he's just impulsively throwing a bet in there cuz he's an idiot fish.
With that being said, the turn call is indisputable IMO. You have outs against two of the most common scenarios that I mentioned above, and you're ahead of the other. I call it and carefully re-evaluate on the river. |

Re: Party 5/10 QQ scary turn multiway
Yeah, good points. The CO could be thinking "well those two don't have it, and I bet the pf raiser has AK so I'll bet my xx and see what happens."
I've been away from the tables for so long that I forget how much retardation exists outs there. |

Also, split outs against a made straight that are also nut outs against those two pair/set/TP hands.
