Default Folding poker table for home game

I'm thinking of buying a folding table like the one shown below. Has anyone played on one of these tables? What are they like?

Cheers.

Friend has one. Pretty cheap and quality not the best.

If you are reasonable with a few basic tools (or have a friend who is) type "Scott Keen Poker Tables" into Google and check out his forums. Excellent plans and advice on building your own.

I play on a table just like that one every sunday in a tournament with a group of 9-11 people.

For their price, they are excellent. Obviously if compared with a casino table, this one looks cheap.

But who cares about that? Once you sit and play on it, it is great. It fits the 10 people with ample space. And even though it doesn't look like it from the picture, it is actually stable and it can withstand a lot of weight on top of it.

The only negative (minor one) is that the place for each player's drink is positioned direclty in front of the player. This makes it hard to maneuver when you are trying to see your cards or make a bet.

Other than that, the table provides excellent service for the value.

I built my poker table off a design from that forum... It looks great and it only took me and a friend like 5 hours one saturday. The whole process is very easy, just a little time consuming. My recommendation is to go for the highest quality materials you can. I used velveteen, and it has a slight drag, I would have perfered to use speed felt. The velveteen looks great however, so I really can't complain too much.

I played on one of these about two weeks ago and it's a nice table for the money. You won't get the "wow - this is nicer than a casino" comments with this table, but for the money it is a pretty good one. My buddy keeps his under a bed, so it's definitely compact and light.

Of course you could buy (or make) a nicer one, but this one seems like a good bargain to me.

I have that exact table and it's awesome. I've seen a couple cheaper made versions that weren't that impressive but I have the 7ft model of that exact table. I bought it off Ebay over a year ago and we play on it every Thursday, 6-9 guys and it is still in perfect condition. No wear, no tear, no nothing. Some people said you won't go "wow" but actually you might. I've countless compliments and questions about where I got the table form people. Compared to the junk (plywood and a piece of felt stapled to it) I've played on at other home games, this tabe is impressive. It folds right up and will slide under a bed if you want to store it.

Good luck.

I looked at the exact table. The thing that bothered me was the crease down the center. I couldn't convince myself that it wouldn't annoy me every time I carved up a pot. It looks trivial, but sometimes little things will grow on you.

I don't understand this comment. Have you bolted chairs to the table? If so, why didn't you offset them a little from the drink holders?

I'm thinking about buying the same table. It seems like you can get it on ebay for about 20 bucks plus the shipping and handling (130) so about 150 bucks. Too bad you can't pick it up. What are they going for? Anywhere else you can find something like this for cheaper?
