Re: 99 vs sick flop call (100 fr)
I've never played NL FR
but an utg limper, and a poster(UTG1 should be a very good sign he's bad) = I raise 99 in the CO it accomplishes a few things, you often buy the button, which is nice for getting free cards on flops you don't want to c-bet, you fold some garbage X>9 high hands that might let you win a few more pots, and you pick up 3.50 right away sometimes, thats a good result as played I think the speed of the call will tell you some info, if its a turbo call its usually a draw, which is likely clubs given the board and his stats the 7 mostlikely didn't improve his hand, so I would fire again on the turn for 14ish |

Re: 99 vs sick flop call (100 fr)
I'm going to bump this. I'm not sure that a FF can call that bet b/c it's not closing the action, but I suppose it's not a big risk, especially since it could be a combo flush draw and the first guy looked weak when he bet it. However, if you were a combo flush draw you basically have to push right there in case the first guy was betting a higher flush draw, I think.
Timing tells are interesting. I don't know about that, but it sounds pretty good. One of my real weak points is the psychology of poker. Thanks for that tip! I'm quite concerned that I'm against a set here. How reasonable is that concern? How often will he have a set vs an overpair or a draw? |

Re: 99 vs sick flop call (100 fr)
He played the flop very passivly. There's no telling what he has here, could be draw could be slowplayed big hand or an overpair.
So what limps on the button? Large pairs and overcards can well be excluded. So suited aces, suited connectors and pocket pairs all limp there. On the flop he calls your raise. No indication of a big hand, so a draw is most likely. Which draws did the 7 complete? just a strange inside straigt-draw. So most likely you're still good against a draw or a sc or suited ace that caught TPTK. Bet 2/3 - 3/4 of the pot on the turn and re-evaluate if he raises you. Most probably fold if that happens. |
