I don't like your turn bet/3 bet...I know you have a lot of equity but there's a good chance you're beat here given the flop action. River is just spew city.

What exactly are you going to get him to fold here?

Most posts with such titles, the answer is generally Yes, and yours is no exception.

My question is what exactly are you trying to represent here? You've shown strength but so has Villain. You have a pair, albeit a weak one, and can beat a bluff. I doubt Villain is bluffing, but showing down in this big pot isn't terrible. Checkraising? Meh, you must hate money.

I can beat a bluff by Button, but I certainly can't beat an overcall by the BB.

excellent play because button most likely was bluffing when he 3-bet the flop, raised the field on the turn, and then bet the river in a 17bb pot with zero chance to win by bluffing.

RESULTS:

I actually folded to the river bet. BB called and showed AJo and took down the pot. Button had A9s.

I thought C/R would be spewing as well (glad you all agree) but I thought calling and having an overcall would be awful as well and in retrospect I wondered if a C/R would have possibly folded out a Q here from a tight player and maximized any chances I had of winning in this huge pot.

Without reads it was hard to play.
