Party VIP question + silver- goldstatus?

I am a silvermember and plays about 5k hands at FL 1-2 2-4 and 3-6 and will generate about 500 dollars in rake this month. Is that close enough to become a VIP or does anyone know how much more I must play/aquire?

Also, does anyone know of any advantage at all from being silver member other than faster pointackumalation? I have never heard of any freeroll etc for silver nor goldmembers which they partypoker state as a reason for being silver/gold member.

I've heard 5k+ points and you might become a VIP. I have never been invited to a freeroll but this time around when the VIP offer is points for cash and no individuell targets are set it is crucial to be a goldmember double the money compared to blue.....

Email vip@party after generating at least $1k rake in a month. I did after about 2k last month and this was their response:

No idea what an 'assessment' is, but I assume it translates to the time of the next VIP offer.

how exactly is that calculated?
is it the total rake taken from pots where you were dealt cards, divided by the number of players in the hand?
or is it the total of rake taken from pots you won?
i guess its the same for r***back (of which we naturally dont talk, cough)?

Earlier when I asked about VIP offers I've been quoted a certain amount of points and I know plenty of others have been too, but go ahead and send an email asking them.

It's not about how much rake you generate, it's about the party points you earn. They explain this somewhere at their site but I don't feel like searching for it cause their site is a total mess.
