100K for Wynn casino dealers
This looks like decent money for being a dealer. I am sure that they are refering to the generic "dealer" and not just the poker dealer.
[ QUOTE ] Wynn Las Vegas executives have said the casino's dealers were earning about $100,000 annually in salary and tips. [/ QUOTE ] full story |

Re: 100K for Wynn casino dealers
This sucks for the dealers. Now all the nits at the table will be tipping $1 on huge pots saying "you know these guys make $100k a year!"

Re: 100K for Wynn casino dealers
These are the PIT dealers making this money.
Once again - the PIT. It's been gone over in previous topics I'm too lazy to search and link to. And no, not all pit dealers in Vegas make anywhere close to this kind of coin... Wynn pit dealers are the highest paid in Vegas. Places like Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian, and Mandalay (maybe) are up there as well, but not making 100k. Most other places on the strip in Vegas don't make even close to nearly as much, more in the 30k-40k range, if that in some cases. |

Re: 100K for Wynn casino dealers
"Wynn Las Vegas executives have said the casino's dealers were earning about $100,000 annually in salary and tips. The new tip-pooling policy would mean an average pay reduction of about 20 percent."
500 employees * 20,000 = $10,000,000 extra for the supervisors? How many supervisors are there, about 100? |

Re: 100K for Wynn casino dealers
Dealers have to go though a fair bit of training, and do a whole lot of "paying their dues". In addition to their skill at physically dealing, they also have to put up with tons of crap from customers, which is in itself quite a skill.
As for college, the present value of your additional future earnings may not justify what you are currently spending on your education. (This is not a dig on you personally; rather it is an often overlooked fact.) P.S. I am not nor have I ever been a dealer. In fact, I'm kind of a Tom when it comes to tipping. P.P.S. I'm going to start referring to organic chemists as "unskilled reaction monkeys". |

Makes sense to me. How many drinks can you deliver in an hour? |
