Suspected newspaper theft

I recently moved into a new building. The building as described by the leasing office, is indeed populated by young professionals. However, the professionals are quite young and, for the most part, obnoxious and annoying and selfish in the way that only people younger than 25 can be.

Given this, I strongly suspect that my morning newspaper has been stolen 4 times in the last three weeks. What are some good ways to ensure that this stops, with minimal damage to myself.

Tell them to hold your paper. Put the paper out from yesterday but smear the insides with doo doo and write "STOP STEALING MY [censored] PAPER ASS CLOWN" on it with a Sharpie marker

ask the carrier to knock on your door when delivering the paper (however, this will be b/t about 3 and 7 am).

Put a sign on your door that says "The next person that steals my paper will be shot to death and his corpse anally violated then gutted. I am not joking."
