Default Portugal (maybe vs. Denmark)

A good buddy and I traveled to Eastern Europe in 2001 for a great 10-day backpacking/hostel trip. Prague, Vienna, Budapest, it was awesome.

We decided it's time to try another one. We've both been to the UK, France, and Italy, and he's been to the Far East, so we're trying to decide where to go next Spring.

I suggested Portugal, and maybe Denmark. I've heard great things about Portugal's beaches -- I guess it's really pretty over there, good weather, etc.

Anyone have stories/advice about visiting Portgual?

And if that's no good, what about Denmark?

Why did Spain and Germany get left off the list?

I hear Iceland is fun.

The only difference is the climate. Denmark - cold, Portugal - warm. Any other way it's same same.

Copenhagen is deffinately one of the coolest cities in Europe, and the Scandinavian girls are by far the most beautiful. However, the weather is better in Portugal!

"The only difference is the climate."

Like Southern California and Michigan are alike, right?

Spain and Germany are potentials. Spain would probably be included in a Portugal trip because we'd likely fly into Madrid and eventually take a train to Lisbon or whatever. Germany might not be as novel, but if people here say they really love it, then maybe it's the place to go.

I heard Iceland is just as expensive as it is fun. I'm not exactly a balla.

if you're looking for shorts and t-shirt weather, it's probably best to wait untill late june/july/early August. but early may is okay, not that warm, not that cold.

The climate probably sucks in Denmark during the fall, but it will be a completely different experience than "touristy" Portugal.

It's looking more and more like Portugal for early May. I'm getting excited!
