Default NL$600 against a nit

I haven't done well recently, not even after I moved down, so I figured I should start posting more. Villain in this hand is a 17/10/aggro. Probably 2+2. I don't think he calls preflop with one seven in his hand. And I think he checks behind the turn a lot with Ax where x is a high club, and folds a lot with Ax where x is a nonclub (and not a king). I'm running 19/11/4 on the table.

fps? or you like?

The way to beat nits is to not give them any action.

I'd like it a lot more if Villain was closer to 17/15 than 17/10. Do you think that a raise of that size is really needed here? I think you can imply a threat to his whole stack for just $300.

The counter to floats is this play when you have a STRONG hand. Just fire again on the turn, nits don't make tough calls through 2 streets very often with hands they're going to lay down.

Why do you think he's likely to bet Ax no club but check with a club? I would think a nit would check all but AK/AT/flush in this spot.

[/ QUOTE ] Because he doesn't want to let a club draw for free and he doesn't want to have to fold his high club. Also, he doesn't think I will check raise without having him beat. I don't know this, though. I just assume it from his stats.
