AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
I've been away from a bit, but the rafting season is over and I'm ready to take the fight to the tables once more, (and piss most of you off with my crackpot lines.) So here's an interesting little hand before I go off to bed.
6max table with every seat taken. I get A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in UTG +2. UTG folds and I open for a raise. The CO folds and the button reraises me. The button is very loose and very bad. However, his aggro is low and he doesn't raise much preflop. He has a tendancy to call the flop and fold the turn which I have been using to my advantage. The sb folds and the BB calls 2 cold. He is new to the table. I call as well and the three of us see this flop. T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Oh my. Unknown in the BB comes right out with a bet. What's your play? |

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
I raise for value with the nut non-flush hand, and then I pray the board doesn't get real sour. BB could have Ah/set/2-pair or just be a flop donking idiot. Heart draws aren't going anywhere so I'd just start throwing the bets in now.

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
Tricky spot.
I raise here. If the BB flopped a flush he usually c/r's it, so you hand is likely best. Then if the BB 3-bets you I call & call down, especially if the button is still on board. I would just call down after that unless a 4th heart hits. The button could mess this up by being aggressive too. I might fold to a turn raise if you felt you were trapped in the middle there. |

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
I think that if the BB bet/3bets the flop, he may have the flush. Usually when a player flops a flush, the automatic reaction to this is to check.
I would just go ahead and raise. |

raise and call down unless 4th heart hits, then dump it.

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
Raise it up. Button is not going to be able to release his hand from your description. If a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] falls or the board pairs you're not going to be able to push even if you still have the best hand.

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
Also don't be so eager to drop it if a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] does fall. Remember hands that hit that board hard (sets, 2 pair) can't have a flush draw

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
I raise and will cap the flop if given the chance. I'll raise the turn and call a 3-bet. Call the river too...no matter what falls.

Re: AQo on a sweet and sour flop.
hmmm
how about this for a weird line call the flop, if button raises you have him beat. if BB just calls you 3bet. hope for black deuce turn. |
