KTo, Missed Value?
Button (40/20, not much of a postflop read other than 36% wtsd over 50 hands) raises.
Hero 3bets K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] from the SB. BB folds. Button caps. Hero calls. Flop is 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checks. Btn bets. Hero calls. Turn is K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks. Btn bets. Hero calls. River is Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks. Btn bets. Hero calls. Looking at this hand with a friend after the fact, we felt like there might be merit to either donking or C/R'ing on either of the 2 big bet streets. Thoughts? |

Re: KTo, Missed Value?
yes, i'd usually C/R the turn. imo you are ahead very often and there are many weaker hands in his range that will probably call you down.

You and your friend figured it out, this turn should be checkraised.

Re: KTo, Missed Value?
I did some pokerstoving and I'm finding it hard to give villian a reasonable range that I'm not at least a 60:40 favorite against.
At the time, I felt like I might be a slight favorite over his range, but it was more valuable to let him stay in the hand with hopeless cards while not getting played off the best hand and/or spewing against a strong hand. After doing the pokerstoving, it looks like a turn C/R is the best play. Assuming I just call the turn, however, what do you think about a river C/R? There are a fair amount of his hands that the Q improves to good 2nd best hands, and I think they pay off almost always. |
