Default KK Call Down

Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $0.50/$1
8 players

SB is Loose Aggro (73/16/2.4). I have seen him donk bet flops with nothing but 2 Over Cards twice already.

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (10SB, 3 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls.

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (8.5BB, 2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (10.5BB, 2 players)
SB bets, Hero ???

By now i'm thinking its a crying call on the river.

I have seen some previous posts advocating calling down in big pots with big hands. Not sure if this qualifies.

Anyone dump this on the turn?
Any better way to play this?

*grunch from the cheap seats*

I usually swear. It's pretty likely SB checked because he wants to do a check raise. Otherwise he would have donked.

It may not be right but I move on and dump it on the flop.

If I think he may call I may call the flop and hope for a good turn card.

what do u think SB is 3 betting?

I feel tough in these spots, But yes with an overcard on the board and a donk on the flop its hard to put UTG on an ace but given his stats i would have made the same play but with SB waking up thats an easy fold on the flop u have 2 outs

SB is most likely 3 betting 2 Pair or a small set.

Letting go this hand is so hard.

Any read on UTG+1 to make you want to raise the flop?

You are pretty much never any good here, time to fold.

UTG+1 is Tight Aggro but Passive on the flop (19/7/1.5). I have seen him donk bet Top pair with a weak kicker already. So my raise is to protect my hand and isolate him. SB's flop 3bet throws spanner in the works.

Given this read I would of folded when he donked.

Really. Is this not a hand protection spot?

I cannot see how you are protecting your hand when you think it may already be beaten. Unless of course you think villain could try to semi-bluff donk with 99 here, then raising would be correct. But your read says he is a Tight but passive postflop & also known to donk top pair, also not many passives donk into a PF 3bettor with an A showing.

Basically if you can trust your read then play it as if you see what UTG+1 is holding.

Same goes for SB, given his check/3bet you have to dump it unfortunately.

In hindsight i agree with you. I really have to develope the discipline to let go hands like these.
