10 handed PP. I open KQs UTG+2. Very next player a 16-8.5-1.66 3 bets next in. Everybody folds to SB who is a 56-3-.3 calls. BB folds, I call.
Flop: 3c Jd Qd. Sb checks I check 3 bettor has auto bet on, SB calls I call. Turn: 5d (3c Jd Qd 5d). Same action without auto bet from bettor. River: 7h (3c Jd Qd 5d 7h). SB checks I bet.... River: |

i like it since its 3way you will get value from the sb calling you with all kinds of worse pairs. clearly, you gotta fold to a raise.

Am i wrong in thinking i want the sb out of this hand as soon as possible, or at least charge him the max, so i donk the flop hoping 3 bettor raises, then check call turn, then bet the river, folding to a raise? Is this line ok?

No turn was bet by pre-flop 3bettor and we both called. Basicly there are 2 spots in this hand. To do something on the flop to get the max out of the SB or play it conservative losing the minimum when preflop 3 bettor has us beat. And then the river of course which the way i played it is the only move I think.

I usually just checkraise the flop and go from there. This way we get to see SB just call and then raise. I'm not sure this is best though, just what I usually do and I do think it's better than just donkbetting the flop. I think the checkcall checkcall donk line is a little too conservative given the strength of our hand and can let villians off to easily.

i prefer to just checkraise the flop since it is drawy
since he is 1.66 agro i assume he is slightly passive and would call a river bet with 99 TT AK sometimes and probably wont try to checkraise with an overpair,AQ or a flush. |

If i'm correct in assuming there is a 3 flush on turn and you don't have a diamond, then I'd definitely donk the turn but I'm on fence whether to call a raise from the pf 3 bettor.
As played, I like the river. |

I was going to say checkraise flop, but after thinking about it, we are likely dominated or getting a fold out of 88-TT. AA KK QQ JJ AQ have us all crushed. The only hand I can see him having that we beat on the flop and he will peel is AK, possibly AJs. I feel like most of the time you will just be paying off KQ here to a 16/8 3-better here.
I like how you played it. |
