How much to live at Bellagio?
On HSP Booth mentions living at Bellagio. Im not really sure what games he plays, but i can infer since he doesnt play in the 4k/8k mixed game, he is playing from 200/400 to 600/1200 mixed games (and possibly 10/20 or 25/50 NLHE). Anyway, I'm wondering how much it might be to live at Bellagio monthly, and how sick of a player would Booth have to be to afford it. As a side note, how could living there possibly be a sensible, professional (read economical) decision, as opposed to buying a house?

I am sure it is as ridiculous as you think to live at the Bellagio. I wouldn't be surprised if it were 6k+ per month.

ive heard about the room that he has and it sounds like it would be at least 1200 a night.
no matter how much he makes its really stupid to live at the bellagio, its basically like flushig money down the toilet. |

Re: How much to live at Bellagio?
All I know is what was said here last time this topic came up. The agreed amount by the majority of people who appeared to have a clue said near 50k.
Most people defended him not buying a condo or something by not being tied down to a payment. That didn't make much sense to me because I know you can buy a decent house (I know not on the strip) for 200k. Buy that and a 10k car to get back and forth and you aren't tied down to much. Then again as anyone who's been to a casino knows staying where you play saves a LOT of time. When you can have the floor call your room to let you know your fish showed up could make it all worth it. |

Re: How much to live at Bellagio?
When Brad Booth was on Rounders the poker radio show, he said he spends about 25k living there a month.
WHoops sorry for duplicating this post. I didn't see it previously. |

Re: How much to live at Bellagio?
25k is like one decent sized pot in the 100/200 NL game that he plays in. Criticising him for spending that to live where he works is short sighted and stupid. Its a small amount compared to the +ev it gives him. Off the top of my head: He never misses a jucy game, if he's tired and wants to catch a 2 hour nap so he can come back fresher than everyone else he just rides the elevator to his suite. If he quits the game cause its not good, and then 2 hours later a live one shows up, he can be back in the game in minues.

He could buy Fruit of the Looms and eat at the buffet at Circus Circus, too, but I bet he doesn't. |
